      Hello 3R friends and neighbors

The Wednesday 13th 2019 Madras Pioneer ran an article on the front page:

“STILL TIME TO FILE FOR DISTRICT BOARDS”

On page A-6, the article goes on to say the LAKE CHINOOK FIRE AND RESCUE Board has 3 out of the 5 positions open and need to be filled.

Larry Griffin from Rim Park is planning to run for re-election and has proven to be significant asset to the Board. Sheila Vertrees from Forest Park has announced that she will not be seeking re-election. Gary Sweet, per the article, has not indicated wether is he running or not.

The fire district has made amazing strides since it’s inception. Despite all the political issues and personality conflicts, Chief Don Colfels and very few dedicated volunteers, the District has gone far beyond what we could have expected given our limited budget.

I have decided that 12 years is enough for me given my other commitments. I will not be seeking re-election in May.

That being said, I encourage anyone that can spare 2 hours per month to help guide and set policy for this indispensable asset for Medical and fire protection to step up and throw name into the hat. Dead line to submit your intentions is March 24th 2019 to get your name on the May ballot.

Please call Art Klingsporn “Board Secretary) at 541-480-5343 for details on how to get your name on the ballot.

      Best Regards
      Gary M. Sweet V.P.
      Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue
