Dear ddfoy~ The “No Wake” area is just 200′ out from the docks, not to the center of the Metolius arm of the lake. It is a basic boating rule to have no wake area’s 200′ out from docks, ramps, swim area’s,marina’s etc. The Marine Board will not allow a log boom because it implies closing off the area to public use. Your judgment that the issue is minor has to be made from ignorance, just think about if it was your kids, pets, and property put at risk by inconsiderate boaters. And yes, it takes an ordinance to make people be considerate or we would not need “School Zone’s” or other laws regulating behavior.
