FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT
      March 24, 2022

      Three Rivers Property Owners,

First, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. Your Board of Directors and committees have been working hard to protect our Association and maintain it to the high standards we all expect.

The Board knows you have many questions. The Board also knows that social media does not always paint an accurate picture so let me address the most important points.

The date for the next annual meeting has been fluid since the inception of the COVID-19 virus and its variants. The Association, under the direction of your Board of Directors, has been following state guidelines for the last two years. Until this month, we did not know when our governor would reduce or eliminate restrictions. Subsequently, our March annual membership meeting was postponed. In February, the Board tentatively planned for the annual meeting to be held in May but had been awaiting confirmation of the meeting location. That was confirmed this last Sunday.

At the March meeting, the Board prepared and reviewed the agenda for the 2022 Annual Meeting and confirmed the meeting would be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge starting at 12:00 pm noon. The 2022 Annual Meeting Packet will be mailed to the membership the second week of April. Details will be posted on the website. There will be three Director positions open for election to members of the Association. There will also be Ballot Measures that will be especially important to the future of our private community. Further details will be posted on the website.

Many of you have asked about the TRLA newsletters. Yes, the last edition was delayed awaiting updates on developments beneficial to the future of the Association, primarily revolving around the EH Sparks/DeMonte lawsuit. A special edition of the newsletter will print soon, and will be in the mail, right behind the Annual Meeting Packet. The newsletter will showcase all that has been accomplished since the last edition.

A rumor has been circulating that annual dues are being raised to $1,000. The rumor surfaced following a Board roundtable workshop on September 19th, 2021. During that workshop, dues and assessments were discussed. A suggestion, and only a suggestion, was made to have $1,000 dues instead of assessments. All boards are tasked with planning the financial futures of their associations. The last dues increase in Three Rivers was more than 25 years ago. That was the extent of the discussion. Besides, dues increases must be approved by the membership.

Lastly, I want to thank our current board members that have gone above and beyond the traditional terms of office (years of service) and fulfilled their responsibilities during these challenging times. Ed Bietschek, Rich Brandvold, Bill Hawkins, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Ryan Oliver, and Jeff Thompson. Your commitments, contributions, and volunteerism to the Association are immeasurable. You have set standards that will be hard to match. I also want to thank all the committees and those volunteers that have spent countless hours planning events and improving our common areas. You are the heart of this Association.

As always, if you have questions please ask. Board contact information is on the website. http://www.3rrec.com
