Fly Creek has submitted a petition with the Oregon State Marine Board requesting that they adopt a new rule for boaters on Lake Billy Chinook.

The proposed new rule would establish a no wake zone in the Fly Creek Inlet of Lake Billy Chinook and prohibit unauthorized anchoring, mooring, or beaching of a vessel. The no wake zone would extend beyond the Fly Creek Inlet, into the Metolius River Arm of Lake Billy Chinook, 200ft around floating structures present up to a point 500ft west and 1200ft east of the Fly Creek Inlet. The no unauthorized anchoring, mooring, beaching zone would extend along the shoreline of the Metolius River Arm of Lake Billy Chinook 500ft west and 1200ft east of the Fly Creek Inlet.
